Statement

Jimmy Tamborello, who is now best known for his major role in The Postal Service, has clearly built a musical legacy, intensely influencing the past decade of indie and electro music and production. Phthalo had the honor of releasing his first two albums, “Early Works For Me If It Works For You” (1998) and “Something Always Goes Wrong” (2001). His breakthrough release, “Life is full of Possibilities” followed on Plug Research, at which point the world took notice of Jimmy and his constantly expanding cast of noteworthy collaborators. In 2009, Phthalo reissued a three-disc compendium of Dntel’s first two albums and additional unreleased material, entitled “Early Works For Me If It Works For You II.” This collection of material also received the remix treatment on our most recent EP, “Early Works, Later Versions.”
