Gerald Wenzel issued his second full-length on Phthalo with a noteworthy epic collection of true contemporary computer composition and synthesis. Made over a period of 2 years, ‘Prarie Program’ was entirely synthesized and composed in Csound in the orthodox “list” form of programming. The tunes range from tidy, clean, and discrete shakers and 808 booms, to post house music workups with chopped and processed female voices, to bowed acoustic guitar drone processes, to hyper-distorted smashed bombastic compression and exploding war-like metal percussion.
