Also known as Televasquez, and as the proprietor of the East Bay electronica label Incomplet, Vid offered his debut full-length, ‘Fragrant Stirrings’, on Phthalo in 2001. The album is a heady stew of dubbed-out electronics and cybernetic time-stretched drones. Vid will focus on a pass of just one tone/beep/hum/buzz, and then manipulate it differently on each new pass, “stirring the fragrances” and creating atmospheres that are not belligerent but still demanding of scrutiny and repeated listens.
